"Motherhood: The Musical"

Auditions: June 14th and 15th at First Congregational Church

Performances: August 14-16 in the RHS Auditorium

Ripon Area Community Theatre (RACT) is holding open auditions for Motherhood the Musical on June 14th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM and June 15th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Auditions will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Ripon First Congregational Church on 220 Ransom Street. Participants should use the north entrance of the church, adjacent to the parking lot, and ascend the stairs to the main floor. An elevator is available near the stairs.

Four female roles will be cast: Amy, soon-to-be new mother; Barb, stay-at-home mother of five; Tina, single mom and recent divorcé, and Brooke, the driven, hardworking lawyer. Ages of the characters range from 20 – 40 but may be cast flexibly.

Auditioners are encouraged to prepare a vocal piece ranging from 1 to 3 minutes which demonstrates their range and strengths. Actors will be also asked to read short scenes from the play which will be available at the audition. 

Copies of the script are available to read in-library (not for check-out) at the circulation desk of the Ripon Public Library.

Performances are August 15-17 at the Ripon High School.

About the play: 

Three mothers and one soon-to-be come together for a baby shower. Over the course of the shower, these friends share the trials and tribulations of what being a mother means to them as well as the depth and warmth of their ties to each other.
